Hi all,The forum we have had some discussions about is finally done!S*Powerspots, Per has created this forum and the meaning is that it willbring ocicat breeders together around the world.It's not yet all done, I have just 13 country's on the breederslist and USisn't there yet but will come of course :)The countries that are there but missing your breedername, PM me!Please feel free to register your nick at the forum and start discussions!Some of the groups aren't done yet and some lighter rules will be put upalso. For example we want to keep the kittenlist fresh, so haven't theeditor refreshed the info for about 2-3 month the litter/kitten/cat willautomaticly be cleared from the list.We expect that there will be discussions and when there are such of a veryhot content..we also expect good behaviour.Constantly bad behaviour will give warnings and finally a expellation.Feel free to spread the world to your friends!

Spotted cats are particularly popular, probably because their fur pattern looks like the one of a wildcat. It was not easy to breed them because wild cats are hard to domesticate. In the early 60ies, an Asian Leopard Cat(Felis Bengalensis)could be crossed with a short hair house cat. Thus, a new breed originated - the Bengal cat.
1983 The Bengal cat was registered as a new breed by the TICA (The Independent Cat Association).

1984/85 For the first time, the Bengal cat took part at a cat show.

1990/91 The breed obtained champion status in the USA.

1995 According to TICA, 9000 Bengal cats were registered in cat associations.

In the 70ies, some breeders in the USA attended to the Bengal cat and bred it..

The Bengal breed is a domestic cat whose origin is a cross between the Asian Leopard Cat (ALC) and a domestic cat. The Asian Leopard Cat is a small spotted wild cat ranging by weight from 5 pounds to as much as 15 pounds. The Bengal has the characteristics of being a very active cat, an excellent climber, a cat that likes to play in water, a very intelligent cat. These cats are personable, and like to follow their owners around. The Bengal breed is believed to be more disease resistant then other domestic cats. The American Bengal cat population is increasing rapidly as this breed is becoming very popular. The first line of Bengals was introduced in the mid 1960's and redeveloped in the 1980's. The bengal cat is the best selling breed in the south westren United States. This is contributed to the short hair of the bengal breed and the interesting personality of a bengal cat. The bengal is basically a healthy breed. It is a relatively new breed and continues to grow in popularity both in the south westren United States and in all states. Owners of bengal cats have been surprised when the cat has followed them into the shower and somethings has even jumped into the bath tub along with their owners. It is clear that the bengal is no ordinary cat, his spots give him the appearance of a wild cat, and indeed, the bengal is part wild cat! In spite of the wild cat in the bengal, most bengals have a gentle loving personality that their owners never seem to tire of talking about.
